Becky essay
Character credibility is when a character in the story is acting like a real person would act. James Berry who writes Becky and the Wheels-and-Brake Boys writes about a girl named Becky that wants a bike, but her mother disagrees with the idea. Becky is a credible character because of how she acts, how she feels, and what she says.

Becky begs for her mom to buy her a bike but her mom doesn’t want to because she says that bikes are for boys and that they can’t afford one but Becky then tells her mom that there’s a girl that has and so her mom tells her that her parents are rich and they have money. I think that Becky is credible is asking her mom for something she wants, a bike. As Becky said ‘’ Over and over I told my mom that I wanted a bike.’’ Becky really wants a bike more than ever, so she pleads to her mom. This proves that Becky is a very realistic character because most of the kids like to bug their parents for what their wish or desire.

Secondly, Becky is a believable character because she fought with her and got angry with her. Becky thinks to herself, ‘‘for the first time Shirnette and me had a real fight because of what I hated the most’’. She was mad at her best friend because Shirnette let a cockroach fly down Becky’s blouse. She is credible because friends frequently fight with each other.

Lastly Becky wants her friends to teach her how to ride a bike so Becky asks the wheels –and- Brake Boys,’ Can somebody teach me to ride?’ Becky doesn’t have a bike because in her neighborhood girls aren’t encouraged to ride them. She wants to be a part of the group, so she asks them to teach her a new skill. Becky stands up for what she wants just like any kid would.

Becky actions, emotions, and words prove that she is credible character. You might know someone like Becky in your neighborhood. Or, it could even be you.

The name of the story I’m going to do an outline about is story called Eleven
The story eleven is written by Sandra Cisneros who was born in Chicago. There’s
A girl who thinks that she is all ages under 11 her name is Rachel and she is going to become 11 that day so she goes to school and then her teacher finds a red sweater on her desk that has been sitting for months so she asks who’s is it and then a girl named Felice Garcia tells the teacher it’s hers so then Rachel gets mad and the teacher gives it to her and then she starts to cry I think that in this situation she is credible because she is saying that it’s not hers and then she starts to whine.
I think that in this situation she is credible because she denies that the red ugly smelly cheese sweater is not hers and then Rachel starts to think that she stutters. I think that one of those examples are that she denies that the sweater is hers and that some girl told the teacher that it was Rachel another one is that her birthday is ruined because of the sweater.
Another of the things that made her credible is that she stutters a lot and that she’s a little bit shy like on the story she doesn’t have the guts to tell the teacher that the sweater is not hers and that when she was trying to tell the teacher then her words didn’t really come out well and she just left it on the desk totally ignoring it so that’s something that makes her credible.
The final situation that makes Rachel credible is that she got sad and depressed and she starts to cry she got depressed because the teacher would not listen to her and that her enemy had humiliated her and that after she had to be forced to put it on and since the sweater was smelly she felt bad that she had to put it on so she started to cry in front of everyone.
So for my conclusion I will say that I have proved that Rachel is credible and that this story was fun to read and it was very exciting to do this essay.

Dear Mom and Dad,
I was just wondering if I could have a dog. I think that a dog will make me happy and it will make me feel funny and it will be very fun and exciting. Also because I have lots of reasons that a dog will be good for us. So all I’m asking for is that you guys will buy me a dog. One of the first reasons is that I want to show you that I could be responsible and that a dog could be fun and bring happiness to our family. The type of dog I want is a German shepherd I think they’re very cute.
As I was saying I want a German shepherd because they are very soft especially their fur and they have beautiful eyes too. I think that it would be good to have a dog because it can protect us from getting robed and it would be like another child to our family so please buy me a dog .A dog would be perfect for our home because when mom is home alone she could have some company and she would feel safe that a dog is there to help her just in case if anything happens.
I do think that a dog can cause problems but I think that I can solve them. Like a problem would be that it can leave presents in the backyard or inside the house and I think to solve that would be to train the dog to only do it in one place and another problem is that the food cost too much and the visits to the vet but don’t worry because I will put most of the money that I have saving for the last 2 years. I think another problem would be that maybe it may bother my mom too much so to solve that we will just keep it in the living room or the backyard. A last problem that I think it’s important is where is it going to sleep I think that a good place would be that backyard to buy him a house there.
If you buy me one I think that it would change my attitude a lot and I would be so happy that I would have more energies to do well in school. Also I would spend lots of times with him or her and give it love and we would go out to a park or walk and in the park we would play fetch and all of those games that dogs love so please buy me one you won’t regret it maybe after a long time but please I beg you buy me one!!

Chapter 1
1. What problems or conflicts are presented in chapter one? Tao needing to find a rabbit is an obvious one; identify at least two more (not having anything to do with the rabbit!).
The problems are that Tao likes to draw and that is not good and he's not focusing on hunting and he could not get the rabbit so
now he has to go and hunt alone and then he meets this wolf dog who's so hungry and they become friends.
2. Predict the resolution of each conflict

no more and that there's a wolf dog that can help them with the hunting.
3. Look at Tao's decisions and actions from Volt's perspective. Pretend you are Volt. Write a first person paragraph explaining how you feel
I would feel very mad because he would be for no use because he would come to the clan with nothing to eat aProxy-Connection: keep-alive CProxy-Connection: keep-alive Cache-Control: max-age=0 he-Control: max-age=0 he would not be hunting and he won't bring anything so we could

CLASSWORK Monday, October 20, 2008

Answer the following questions
Chapter 6
1. Graybeard realizes that Tao has broken two taboos of his clan. What are they?
The 2 taboos that he has done is that he was drawing and that he had walked on forbidden land and he also hunted with a wolf .
2. Which taboo doesn't he know about yet?
The taboo that he does not know about is that he should not have a wolf dog.
3. Graybeard describes Volt differently than we have. What aspects of Volt's character is Graybeard acknowledging?
He's acknowledging that he is a good man but he has too much dreams of spirits and demons.

CLASSWORK Thursday, October 23, 2008

Write your reaction to the last paragraph in the chapter. Do you agree or disagree with Graybeard? Is what he says true for those times, but not now? Or is the reverse true: is it true now, but wasn't true then?
I think that he's right because breaking a taboo will make people who believe that feel bad because that is there belief and they take it very serious
and Tao would not pay too much attention on hunting and maybe he will get so addicted that he won't pay attention to his clan and his wolf dog.

Chapter 8
An important theme in this novel is that people should follow their dreams and do what they believe is right, even if they don't follow their society's expected ways.
The author examines this theme in a stone age setting. Imagine a similar situation today, where a person's desires go against society's expectations
What situation did you imagine?

In the situation you imagined, should the person follow his or her dreams or should they follow society's rules? Give your opinion.
I think the person should follow the society's rule's because, first of all it's not correct to do that and they should respect that and if they
want to do that they should do their personal stuff so that's what i think about the situation.

=CLASSWORK Monday, October 27, 2008Chapter 9
Why do you think Graybeard changed his mind?
I think that Graybeard changed his mind because maybe he realized that its Tao's passion and that he's doing a good job
on it and he wants to teach him to draw better and have his dream come true to be a chosen one and one that day he will be
a master like Graybeard.
What does this tell you about his character?
I can tell you that well he has changed and that he may seem so mysterious but Graybeard can be a little sweet
and a nice man because he treated Tao as he was someone important to him.

CLASSWORK Tuesday, October 28, 2008

how to draw and that he's disrespecting the taboo that they have and it could be very dangerous.
2. Predict what will happen next. If you've read ahead, invent an alternate scene.
I predict that Graybeard gets sick and then Tao is going to get better at drawing and he's going to be a
chosen one and he's going to succeed and he's going to find out something very unbelievable that it will shock him.
